Code of Conduct

Assembly and Dismissal

  • All pupils must attend the Flag-Raising or Flag-Lowering Ceremony.
  • Pupils who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Pupils will take the Pledge with their right fist placed over the heart.
  • All pupils should do silent reading before Devotion.
  • PM session pupils should do silent reading before dismissal.
  • AM session pupils will go up to the Hall at 7:05a.m. Those coming into the school from the front gate will use Staircase 3 while those from the back gate will use Staircase 7.
  • PM session pupils are not allowed to go to the Hall until 12 noon. They are to use only Staircase 3.
  • Pupils arriving after 7:20a.m. / 12.30p.m. are considered late. Late coming is an offence. Pupils who are late for school will have their names recorded in the School Offence Module.

General Conduct

  • All pupils must be punctual for school and all school activities. Late-coming is an offence.
  • All pupils are expected to attend school regularly. A medical certificate from a doctor or a letter from a parent is required when a pupil is absent from any school activities.
  • Once pupils have arrived in school, they are not allowed to leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal, Vice-Principal or Heads of Department.
  • Pupils are not allowed to leave a classroom without the teacher's permission.
  • All pupils are expected to take good care of the school property and facilities. They must keep the school compound and classrooms clean at all times.
  • All food and drinks are to be consumed only in the canteen.
  • Pupils are strongly discouraged from bringing handphones to school. Pupils who choose to bring handphones to school are responsible for their safe-keeping.
  • Handphones must be switched off during curriculum hours and other school-organised activities.
  • Toys, handheld game consoles and other electronic devices (such as camera, iPod and MP3 players) are not allowed to be brought to school.

Greeting of School Staff & Visitors

  • Pupils should greet the Principal, Vice-Principal, preachers, teachers and school visitors with a bow and say "Good morning, sir / madam", "Good afternoon, sir / madam" or "Good evening, sir / madam".

Pupil Movement

  • Pupils should walk in twos quietly and keep in line when moving from one point to another.
  • Pupils should walk on the left of staircases and along corridors.
  • There must be no pushing or overtaking at all times.
  • Taking of the lift is only allowed if permission is given. Pupils taking the lift must display the lift pass clearly.

Safety Rules

  • Pupils are not allowed to remain in the classroom without the presence of a teacher during recess or before / after curriculum time.
  • Entry into Special Rooms is only allowed with the permission from a teacher or an instructor.
  • Playing of games in the Hall and Parade Square (Level 2) is only allowed by teachers or coaches.
  • Pupils must keep a safe distance from railings especially on the higher floors.
  • Female pupils must go to the toilets with a classmate / schoolmate.

Behaviour during Examinations

  • Only permitted stationery will be placed on the desk.
  • Communication of any form during the examination is strictly prohibited.
  • Electronic equipment is strictly prohibited unless permission is given.
  • A breach of any of the above will treated as an attempt to cheat.

Attire and Appearance

  • Pupils are to wear the prescribed school uniform. Modification to the school uniform is not allowed.
  • All pupils must be in full school uniform when attending classes, including enrichment classes. The school PE T-shirt and PE shorts are to be worn only during PE lessons and games.
  • All pupils are expected to keep their hair neat and tidy. Dyeing of hair is not permitted.
  • Boys must be clean shaven. They must keep their hair short and are not allowed to spot beard, moustache or long side burns.
  • Girls who wish to keep their hair length beyond the collar of their blouses would have to tie them up neatly. Bangs that touch the eyebrows are to be clipped up neatly. No fancy hairstyles are allowed.
  • Girls who have pierced ears may wear a pair of small, round ear-studs.
  • No other forms of jewellery should be worn to school.
  • All pupils must look neat and tidy in appearance.

Attire for Girls

  • The uniform for girls is a white collared blouse with the school crest on the left and white skirt with the school crest.
  • The skirt hemline must be no more than 3 cm above the knees.
  • School issued badges are to be worn on the top left side of the blouse, just below the school crest.
  • White shoes are to be worn. Socks must be plain white and must cover the ankles (at least 5 cm above shoes).
  • For Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils, the name tag is to be ironed on the left hand side of the blouse just below the school crest.
  • The PE attire for girls is the school PE T-shirt and PE shorts. PE attire is to be worn only on days when PE lessons or sports-related CCAs are conducted. The PE T-shirt must be tucked in. After PE lessons or sports-related CCAs, the girls should put on their skirts.

Attire for Boys

  • The uniform for boys is a white collared shirt with the school crest on the pocket and khaki shorts with the school crest.
  • School issued badges are to be worn on the top left side of the shirt, just below the school crest.
  • White shoes are to be worn. Socks must be plain white and must cover the ankles (at least 5 cm above shoes).
  • For Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils, the name tag is to be ironed on the left hand side of the shirt just below the school crest.
  • The PE attire for boys is the school PE T-shirt and PE shorts. PE attired is to be worn only on days when PE lessons or sports-related CCAs are conducted. The PE T-shirt must be tucked in.
  • Hair should not touch the collar, ears or eyebrows.
